Surya Roy is a Technologist, Cultural Heritage Conservationist, researcher & explorer of Indic History & heritage, author & historian, whose research spans across the History & Culture of Braj Mandal, Kurukshetra, Kalinga & Shri Jagannath Culture, Mewar & Maratha history. Hailing from a family of revolutionaries, he is also a keen student of Archaeology & focuses on the enlistment of Heritage sites & conservation of ancient manuscripts. A Life Member & Researcher with INTACH (Indian National Trust for Arts, Culture & Heritage) New Delhi HQ & the Numismatics Society of India (Banaras Hindu University), he is also an Associate Member of ICOMOS (International Council of Monuments & Sites), an UNESCO body for the Conservation of Archaeological sites globally. He is also currently the Director for North India Operations of IHAR (Indian History awareness & research) a Houston based NGO, which engages in the Conservation of India’s Cultural Heritage & Indian Knowledge Systems(IKS). He was appointed by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee as a “Desk Reviewer” in the Panel for UNESCO World Heritage Sites for 2023 & 2025 & has also very recently featured along with a panel of Cultural Heritage experts in a 48 mins documentary, released by Ministry of Culture & directed by IGNCA on ” Yamuna & Braj Mandal” detailing his research work on the impact of Yamuna on the Culture of Braj.
Apart from the above, Surya Sarathi Roy has attended several domestic Literature festivals & delivered talks on India’s Cultural Heritage & History at the IIT Kanpur, Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management, Bhubaneswar, NCC Delhi Cadets & a few more reputed Universities so to say. Being an Ex-Cricketer he has also Co Authored a Book titled “ Sports in Life” & currently working on his next books
