Rabi Ranjan Sen is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of History, Katwa College, West Bengal. He has done M.A. and M.Phil in History from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has also done a UGC-sponsored research project on ‘A Cultural Encounter Between East and West: Situating Paramahansa Yogananda and the Kriya Yoga Tradition’. He has presented and written on 17-18th Century Maratha social history, Kriya Yoga, Swami Vivekananda, the freedom movement especially the armed struggle, Swadeshi and national education, etc. Currently he is a member of the Society and Administrative Council of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, under the Ministry of Culture. Working for revival of Indic ideas in history and education, he is also involved in educational planning as President, Vidya Bharati, South Bengal.
