Rahul Ravi Rao is a Visiting Faculty member at the Department of Pāli, University of Mumbai, where he has been teaching since 2017. With expertise in Pāli language, Theravāda Buddhism, Buddhist literature, and archaeology, he also serves on the teaching staff at Mahabodhi Research Center, Bengaluru, and contributes as a resource person for institutions such as Rajasthan Vidyapeeth and the University of Mumbai’s Department of History. His academic journey includes an M.Phil. in Pāli and ongoing Ph.D. research on “Education and Culture from Pāli Literature and its Role in the Revival of Buddhism.” Rahul holds multiple postgraduate diplomas in Buddhist Studies, Archaeology, and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Thought, along with triple NET-JRF qualifications in Pāli, Comparative Religion, and Buddhist Studies. A dedicated scholar and educator, he has published 13 articles and actively participated in over 130 academic programs at state, national, and international levels. Recognized with the Buddhist Studies Excellence Award (2024) and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Rashtriya Samman (2025), he has represented India at the 1st Asian Buddhist Summit (2024) and the 20th UN Vesak Day Celebrations (2025). Rahul continues to inspire students through his innovative teaching and commitment to Buddhist education and culture.
